Solus Eris was formed in 2005 as an ambitious and avant-garde musical project with Mauricio Landázuri on lead guitar and vocals, Ivar Zambrano on rhythm guitar and Henry Guerrero on drums. Initially a death metal band, characterized by a heavy, dark, nostalgic and particularly fast sound; influenced by Swedish death metal bands of the 80s and 90s. Soon the group began to compose and interpret themes with influences much more rooted in heavy metal, influenced mainly by the Swedish melodic death metal (Gothenburg). In 2008 the band undergoes a process of changes to solidify and consolidate the sound of Solus Eris, in which a new line-up is produced: Mauricio Landazuri and Javıer Portilla on guitars, Ivar Zambrano on bass, Daniel Cisneros on vocals and Iván Cueva enters the band on drums, contributing with a more contemporary and versatile sound. With this new lineup, Solus Eris participated in several underground festivals, earning the admiration and respect of the public, working intensively to improve the composition and interpretation of his first songs and finally enter the recording studio Mid-Side Records in October 2009, to return to record the tracks of his first demo, along with two new songs strengthening his Swedish Melodic Death Metal style.
At the beginning of January 2010, Fausto Méndez joined as a bassist in the band, a very important and representative change, since in this way new paths and possibilities are being opened for the objectives of the band and of each of the members of this interesting project; as the culmination and release of their debut EP "Presagio".
